Important Update for Students On Campus

Dear Students Living on Campus,

We have a few quick updates for you, and we'll keep updating as we can over the next few days.

First, we've heard from you that you'd like to see increased hours for testing. Testing today will be open as planned through 630 pm, and testing hours have been extended tomorrow (Saturday 2/27) from 8 am to 3 pm.

Second, please do engage fully if you hear from the Health Service staff about a positive test or contact tracing. All consultations with Health Service clinicians are confidential, and our ability to collectively slow down the spread of COVID relies on having timely and complete contact tracing information.  Please feel free to call the Health Service nursing staff at 646-9440 any time, 24/7 for any questions or concerns that arise. They stand by to help and advise you through this.

And third, to minimize possible conditions for additional exposure from indoor activities, we do need to ask you not to use the kitchens and lounges in the residence halls. Those spaces are closed until Tuesday. We'll reassess whether that needs to continue at the beginning of the week.

We know how difficult and stressful this is - especially going in to the last week of the term. Please don't hesitate to use all campus support resources now. The undergraduate deans stand by to assist with academic concerns, and Health Service primary care and counseling staff are standing by as well. If you need medical or counseling assistance, call the nurses 24/7 at 646-9440 , and as usual, you can reach the dean on call through Security at 646-4000 after hours and on weekends.

Now more than ever, thank you for doing your part to maintain physical distancing, to continue wearing your face coverings, and to avoid group gatherings. We'll get through this, working together.

All best,

Dr. Mark Reed, Director of the Health Service

Mike Wooten, Associate Dean of Residential Life
