Student organizations may be held accountable for the behavior of its members and guests on its premises, at events sponsored by the organization, or when a group including significant numbers of members or guests violates College policies. The Group Accountability Statement outlines in more detail information about organizational responsibility.
Student organization leadership should work closely with their sponsoring department to ensure that they are following the Standards of Conduct and related departmental policies.
Similar to individual students, student organizations cases can be addressed with Administrative Hearings or with an Organizational Adjudication Committee hearing. Administrative hearings include a hearing officer and several organizational leaders. Serious misconduct is handled by the Organizational Adjudication Committee or an OAC Chair. These hearings include a hearing chair or full OAC, an officer of the organization (typically the president), an advisor, witnesses, and may include an observer.
